It’s not a one-day affair to make a habit or break a pattern. Sometimes it takes a lot of time to change bad habits. The best part is slow and gradual changes bring a lot of transformation. So it’s better to be hard on yourself and go slow, one step at a time. Every individual has certain habits which may not be good for themselves or the people around them.

Not Drinking Sufficient Water

Drinking adequate water and keeping up your fluids enables your skin to be soft and clear, body temperature is maintained, muscles and joints work better, memory sharp, and toxins get eliminated from your body. So it implies drinking sufficient water is a good habit for your body and mind.

Eating Very Late At Night

It would help if you had your dinner at least 3 hours before your sleep time. Eating late at night can have adverse effects on your health. Late night meals consistently can cause indigestion, obesity, or insomnia. In addition, you are impeding the body’s natural process of healing when you eat late regularly.

Not Going To Walk Or Exercise Daily

Everyday physical activity helps you to stay fit, mentally and physically. Happy hormones get released, and you feel stress-free. Daily exercising saves you from many diseases, such as obesity, high blood pressure, lethargy, fatigue, and many more. You are active the whole day, and your ability to work more efficiently enhances if you work out daily or go for brisk walks.

Not Sleeping At Times

Sleeping on time is the best thing you can do for yourself. Your body requires at least 7-8 hours of sleep every day to be healthy. Healthy hormones get generated while you are asleep; else, you can lose them. 

Cooking Everything In Olive Oil

Olive oil contains many polyphenols, antioxidants, and monounsaturated fats; however, it may not be as healthy as it sounds. So, how is it not the right choice, and when? Let’s dig in. Olive oil has a low smoke point, so it loses all its nutrition when you try to heat it too high. Instead, it produces compounds that harm your body at that temperature. So, if you are cooking something that requires high heat, then do not consider olive oil the right choice. Instead, you could use it for sauteing vegetables on low flame or over salads.

Skipping Dessert

Are you a sweet tooth? But you think that’s adding to your weight issues, and you think skipping desserts post meals may help? Voila! The truth is if you are deprived, then also you tend to eat more. So, it’s better to eat everything in moderation instead of a restricted diet. You can treat yourself to a favorite sweet dish of yours in small proportion; half a cup of ice cream won’t cross your calorie limit. 

Not Changing Your Kitchen Sponge Or Sanitizing Regularly 

You might not have given it a thought, but changing kitchen sponges frequently is very critical to your health as that is the breeding ground of yeast, bacterias, and mold. It has 150 times more bacterias than a toothbrush holder. As per NSF International public health organization, an independently running set-up, most germs are not harmful, but some may cause food poisoning. So, if you are a cleanliness freak and keep your refrigerator, microwave, sink, and kitchen counter sparkling clean using a disinfectant, then you are in the safe zone.
