Do Low Carb Diets Really Work?

Carbs, or carbohydrates, are made up of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen atoms that form a complex sugar. They are used to give your body and its parts energy to work with when performing daily functions on the cellular and physical levels.

When broken down, carbs provide energy. If you eat too many carbs without using the energy they provide, they often get stored as fat and can make your jeans a little tighter to say the least.

Carbs are consumed by everyone. In fact, studies show that Americans typically eat far more carbs a day than they actually need. High carb diets are typically great for athletes who use a lot of energy every day, but a ton of carbs aren’t actually great for the everyday Joe.
